“LAYPERSON’S GUIDE TO ESTATE PLANNING” PUBLISHED
Comprehensive Estate Planning Book Available Free of Charge
SALISBURY, MD (11/6/13) — The Law Offices of James A. List is releasing the 15th anniversary edition of “A Layperson’s Guide to Estate Planning,” a comprehensive, easy-to-read resource guide to understanding everything you need to know when considering estate planning.
Written by James A. List – founder of The Law Offices of James A. List, LLC – “A Layperson’s Guide to Estate Planning” discusses every major topic facing Americans today regarding estate planning, including: asset protection, special needs, and dynasty trusts; wills; revocable and irrevocable trusts; powers of attorney; and medical directives.
The book also covers gifting strategies and the use of family LLCs/LLPs, 1031 exchanges, and family charitable foundations.
“Whether you are a business owner, a family with a developmentally disabled member, or an individual with real estate, estate planning, asset protection, and trust needs, don’t underestimate the importance of fully understanding how to take charge of your financial future and manage the distribution of wealth to your heirs,” List explains.
Recently honored by The Arc Maryland as “Volunteer of the Year” for his work on behalf of individuals with developmental disabilities, List started his firm in 2008 after serving as a Partner in the wealth management and corporate departments of Miles & Stockbridge P.C. He previously worked for Maryland National Bank as the portfolio manager for retirement products, after serving as a marketing research analyst, a senior telecommunications analyst, and an information systems analyst.
The Law Offices of James A. List became “Of Counsel” to the Hunt Valley, MD law firm Hofmeister, Breza & Leavers (HBL) early this fall. List, HBL, and a third firm – Community Settlement Group (CSG) – then jointly opened an Eastern Shore office in Salisbury. Located at 212 West Main Street in the heart of Salisbury’s downtown district, the new office “enables my firm, HBL, and CSG to better serve our clients and referral sources on the Eastern Shore,” says List.
Copies of “A Layperson’s Guide to Estate Planning” are available at no charge as part of the firm’s commitment to serve the community through education and participation. To obtain a copy or for additional information, visit The Law Offices of James A. List online at https://jalistlaw.com.
