Trust Administration

Every trust requires a trustee, which is a person or company that administers the trust, acting in a fiduciary capacity. Trustees dutifully act in the best interests of their beneficiaries, as defined in the trust document. Trustees must prudently invest and safeguard the assets, prepare and file tax returns, and communicate with and distribute to the beneficiaries.

The Law Offices of James A. List, LLC often serve as a trustee, or as a co-trustee with family members in instances where the family does not want an institutional trustee. In performing this role, we contract with your family’s financial advisors for the investment management role.
